Ehsas Distributed 93 kg meat for vulnerable and returnees families in Logar Province of Afghanistan.

Afghanistan remains one of the most impoverished Islamic nations, facing severe hardship, particularly in these difficult times. Famine, hunger, and a declining economy threaten thousands of vulnerable individuals, including orphans and widowed families.

The Global Peace Mission Malaysia (GPM) has provided substantial humanitarian aid to support those in need during this crisis. In collaboration with the Ehsas Welfare and Social Services Organization (EWSSO), they facilitated the sacrifice of 1 cow, ensuring that the meat was distributed to 31 families. This generous initiative was made possible through a grant from the Global Peace Mission Malaysia (GPM).

Project Overview:

The Ehsas Welfare and Social Services Organization (EWSSO) successfully carried out the Qurbani Project, a significant Sunnah practice in Islam. This initiative took place in Logar Province, Afghanistan, where 1 cow were sacrificed. The meat was carefully distributed among 31 households, with each family receiving 3 kg to support their nutritional needs.

Made possible through a generous grant from the Global Peace Mission Malaysia (GPM) organization, this project ensured that vulnerable communities could observe Qurbani despite their challenging circumstances. Beyond its religious significance, the initiative aimed to provide essential nutrition to those in need, fostering a sense of unity and compassion.

The project was successfully implemented on June 7, 2024, in Logar Province, Afghanistan.

Achievements:

  • Successful Slaughter and Distribution: The 1 cow were slaughtered and the meat was distributed efficiently to the intended beneficiaries.
  • Community Engagement: The project fostered a sense of community by involving local leaders and volunteers in the distribution process.

Challenges:

  • Weather and Climate condition: Afghanistan faced severe storm and wind during the project period, which impacted the availability, cost of animals and slaughtering process.
  • High Costs and Scarcity: Due to the famine, many people lost their livestock, making animals both expensive and scarce.
  • Logistical Issues: The adverse weather conditions complicated transportation and distribution logistics.
