Food Packages Distribution Project for Earthquake Victims in Kunar Province

Afghanistan remains one of the most impoverished Islamic nations, facing severe poverty and economic hardship. During the blessed month of Ramadan—a time of mercy, compassion, and generosity—many vulnerable families continue to struggle with hunger and food insecurity. Orphans, widowed families, returnees, and other disadvantaged households are among those most in need of urgent humanitarian assistance.

In this Holly month of Ramadan, Ehsas Welfare and Social Services Organization (EWSSO) implemented Food packages distribution project for earthquake victims in Kunar province. Through this initiative, Food packages were distributed to vulnerable families to help ease their hardship and enable them to observe Ramadan with dignity and peace of mind.

This initiative was made possible through the generous support of the Shafi and Liza Foundation, whose continued humanitarian assistance reflects the true spirit of charity and solidarity during Ramadan.

Project Overview:
Ehsas Welfare and Social Services Organization (EWSSO) successfully implemented a Ramadan humanitarian assistance project in Kunar province on 28 February 2026. Through this initiative, 50 Food Packages were distributed to vulnerable and affected families to help ease food insecurity during the blessed month of Ramadan.

The project aimed to support families affecting in earthquake, facing severe economic hardship, enabling them to observe Ramadan with dignity and peace of mind. This initiative was made possible through the generous support of the SHAFI & LIZA Foundation, whose continued humanitarian assistance plays a vital role in supporting vulnerable Afghan communities during the blessed month of Ramadan.

Achievements:

• Direct Impact: Successfully distributed 50 Food Packages to vulnerable families in Kunar Province on 28^th February 2026, directly addressing food insecurity and supporting households during the blessed month of Ramadan.
• Community Support: Strengthened solidarity and compassion within the community by assisting disadvantaged families, enabling them to observe Ramadan with dignity and reduced hardship.
• Operational Efficiency: Despite economic and logistical challenges, EWSSO team implemented the project effectively and completed the distribution in a timely and organized manner, demonstrating strong commitment and accountability.

Challenges:

• Logistical Constraints: Transportation and distribution arrangements posed operational challenges, requiring careful coordination to ensure the timely and organized delivery of food packages.
• High Level of Need vs. Limited Resources: The number of vulnerable families in need of assistance exceeded the available Food packages. Due to limited resources, EWSSO was unable to cover all eligible beneficiaries, highlighting the increasing humanitarian needs in the targeted area.

Despite the challenges encountered, the successful distribution of 50 Food packages to earthquake affected families in Kunar Province on 28^th February 2026 highlights the resilience, dedication, and operational capacity of EWSSO team.

The generous support of the SHAFI & LIZA Foundation was instrumental in making this humanitarian initiative possible. Their timely assistance enabled vulnerable families to observe the blessed month of Ramadan with greater dignity and reduced hardship.

Project Outcomes
