Ehsas Welfare and Social Services Organization (EWSSO) Distributed 12,168 kg of fresh meat in Kandahar & Zabul

Afghanistan continues to face profound challenges as one of the most impoverished Islamic nations, with famine, hunger, and economic instability placing thousands of vulnerable people—including orphans and widowed families—at risk. In response to this crisis, the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), in partnership with the Ehsas Welfare and Social Services Organization (EWSSO), has delivered critical humanitarian aid.

As part of this initiative, they organized the sacrifice of 50 cows—20 in Zabul and 30 in Kandahar—ensuring that fresh meat reached 1,137 families in Kandahar and 668 families in Zabul. This vital distribution, funded by a generous grant from IHH, provided nourishment and relief to communities in urgent need.

We deeply value the continued support of the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), whose unwavering dedication to the Afghan people stands as a beacon of hope during times of adversity. Their commitment to compassion and solidarity uplifts those struggling to survive and inspires resilience throughout the nation.

Project Overview:

The Ehsas Welfare and Social Services Organization (EWSSO) successfully carried out the Qurbani Project, honoring a deeply significant Sunnah practice in Islam. The initiative took place on June 7, 2025, across Kandahar and Zabul provinces, where 30 cows were sacrificed in Kandahar and 20 in Zabul. The fresh meat was distributed to 1,137 households in Kandahar and 668 in Zabul, with each family receiving 3 kg in Kandahar and 4 kg in Zabul respectively—providing critical nutritional support during a time of profound hardship.

This impactful project was made possible through a generous grant from the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), whose support enabled vulnerable communities to observe Qurbani with dignity. Beyond fulfilling its religious importance, the initiative served as a powerful expression of compassion and unity, offering both sustenance and hope to those most in need.

Project Outcomes

The Ehsas Welfare and Social Services Organization (EWSSO) distributed 6,084 kilograms of fresh meat; including 3,412 kg in Kandahar and 2,672 kg in Zabul to support vulnerable and returnee families across both provinces of Afghanistan.
