Ehsas Welfare and Social Services Organization: A Ray of Hope for Every Afghan

The Gujjar Community:

Ehsas Organization: A Pure Address Free from Discrimination and Inequality

Ehsas Organization has demonstrated its dedication to serving every segment and community in society by addressing essential needs. For the past year, in the Kumpani area of Kabul city, Ehsas has built a mosque, a madrassa, and a clean water well for the Gujjar community. Additionally, they set up a storage system to supply clean water to the entire camp, which is now fully operational.

This community has historically been socially isolated, with no teachers or assistance ever provided to them. They had come to believe that their only purpose in life was to beg and be viewed with disdain by society. However, Ehsas embraced them, consistently supporting them with food, winter clothing, and other essential aid.

Over the past six months, both men and women of the community have completed Quran recitation courses and learned how to perform prayers. The children have also completed Quran recitation and memorized numerous prayers and surahs.

According to the community, “Ehsas Welfare Organization has given us hope and shown that we are not separate from society but part of it.” The women of the community expressed a desire for projects that would allow them to work from home, freeing them from having to roam the streets and markets, so they could live with dignity like other women in society.
